A Higher Standard of Home Care Born from Personal Experience

THE SISTER STANDARD

"I built the agency I wanted for my own sister."

Living with my sister, who relies on daily in-home care, I experienced firsthand the challenges of finding reliable help. I saw the "revolving door" of caregivers and felt the constant anxiety of wondering if the person walking into our home was truly compassionate and capable.

I founded BlueBonnet Home Health in Houston because I knew families deserved something better. When I interview a caregiver today, I ask myself one simple question:

"Would I trust this person to care for my own sister?"

If the answer isn't an enthusiastic 'Yes,' they don't work for BlueBonnet. That is our promise to every family we serve across the Greater Houston area.

Home Care FAQs for Houston Families

Common questions about navigating in-home care and senior assistance in Texas.

What is the difference between Home Health and Personal Care?

In Texas, Home Health usually refers to clinical medical care (like wound care or physical therapy). BlueBonnet specializes in non-medical personal care (unskilled), which includes essential daily living assistance—bathing, dressing, meal prep, and companionship—the vital support needed for seniors to live independently in Houston.

Does Medicare pay for non-medical home care in Texas?

Traditional Medicare generally does not cover unskilled personal care or companionship services. However, we proudly accept Private Pay and handle all paperwork for major Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) policies to help cover the cost of your care.

Do you require a long-term contract or a minimum number of hours?

No. We understand that care needs change. Whether you need a few hours of respite care a week so a family member can rest, or you need comprehensive daily support, we create a flexible care plan tailored strictly to your schedule without locking you into rigid, long-term contracts.

Do you provide 24-hour or overnight care in Houston?

Yes. We offer flexible scheduling, including overnight care and 24/7 continuous support. This ensures your loved one is safe, monitored, and comfortable at all hours, providing true peace of mind for families living across the Greater Houston area.

What if my loved one does not connect with their caregiver?

The relationship between a client and their caregiver is the most important part of what we do. Through our "No-Stranger Promise," we strive for perfect matches. However, if the fit isn't right for any reason, simply contact our local Houston office, and we will arrange a new caregiver immediately, no questions asked.

Can your caregivers provide transportation to medical appointments?

Yes. Our caregivers can assist with errands, grocery shopping, and provide reliable transportation to and from doctor's appointments, whether that's locally in your neighborhood or down to the Texas Medical Center.

Which Texas counties do you actively serve?

We serve families throughout Texas Health and Human Services Region 6. This includes Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria, Galveston, Waller, and all surrounding communities.
