Private Duty & Companion Care

Our private duty caregivers provide essential support with everyday tasks to enhance safety, comfort, and quality of life for those needing supportive help without requiring medical services on every visit.

  • Assistance with bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing
  • Mobility support and transfers (with safety measures)
  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and errands
  • Meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Supervision and companionship
  • Respite care (relief for primary caregivers)

Companion care is often the first step for families who notice a parent slipping — missed meals, an unkempt house, or growing isolation. If you're unsure what level of help is right, our guide to the signs a parent needs home care walks through what to look for, and respite care can give a family caregiver room to breathe without handing off control.

Senior Care Assistance

Designed to support older adults who wish to remain at home with dignity. We provide the vital daily living support necessary for aging safely in place.

  • Assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility)
  • Light household support (meal preparation, laundry, errands, safe-home monitoring)
  • Companionship and supervision to reduce isolation and enhance wellbeing
  • Transition/recovery help following illness or surgery, tailored to your pace

Recovery support is one of the most common reasons Houston families call us: hospitals discharge patients home within days of surgery, but physical therapy only visits a few times a week. Our aides cover the gap — see how this works after a hip replacement or during stroke recovery.

Dementia, Alzheimer's & Parkinson's Care

Specialized non-medical care for seniors living with memory loss and chronic conditions. Consistent, familiar caregivers help reduce confusion and keep daily life calm, structured, and safe at home.

  • Dementia and Alzheimer's care with safe routines and gentle redirection
  • Parkinson's disease support and steady mobility assistance
  • Fall prevention and fall-risk monitoring throughout the home
  • Wandering supervision and consistent one-on-one engagement

Memory care at home works best with the same faces on a steady schedule — that's why we built the No-Stranger Promise. For families navigating a dementia diagnosis, our GUIDE Program guide explains how qualifying families receive 72 hours of Medicare-covered respite care at no cost, and our Parkinson's home care guide covers what daily support looks like as mobility changes.

How Care Begins

📞

1. Call or Message Us

Call (346) 689-2339 or send our contact form. You'll speak with our local Houston team — never an out-of-state call center — about what's going on and what kind of help you're considering.

🏠

2. Free In-Home Assessment

We visit your loved one's home, walk through their routines and safety risks, and build a written care plan together. There's no cost and no obligation — it's also how we confirm we're the right fit before any commitment.

🤝

3. Caregiver Match & Ongoing Support

We match a caregiver who passes the Sister Standard, keep the same faces on your schedule, and stay involved with supervision and plan adjustments as needs change. If you're using LTCI, we handle the paperwork from day one.

QUESTIONS FAMILIES ASK

In-Home Care Services FAQ

What is the difference between home health care and non-medical home care?

Home health care involves skilled medical services — nursing, physical therapy, wound care — usually ordered by a doctor. BlueBonnet provides non-medical home care: hands-on personal assistance with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, medication reminders, and companionship. Many families use both at once — a home health nurse visits a few hours a week, while our caregivers cover the daily support in between.

How much does in-home care cost in Houston?

Rates start at $25 per hour for standard personal care and run up to $35 per hour for the most complex care plans. Clients scheduling 30+ hours per week qualify for a volume discount. Get an instant estimate with our rate calculator.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

No — we accept Private Pay and Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) only. If your loved one has an LTCI policy, we act as your case manager and handle the documentation, care logs, and billing the policy requires. Families caring for someone with dementia may also qualify for 72 hours of Medicare-covered respite care through the GUIDE Program.

Are your caregivers background-checked and insured?

Yes. BlueBonnet is a licensed, bonded, and insured Texas home care agency. Every caregiver passes a comprehensive background check and a personal vetting interview with our founder. The hiring rule is simple: if we wouldn't trust a caregiver with our own family, they don't work for BlueBonnet.

Can you provide 24-hour, overnight, or live-in care?

Yes. We provide overnight care, awake-night supervision, live-in caregivers, and full 24-hour home care with rotating, familiar staff — built around consistent caregiver assignments so your family always knows who is at the door.

What areas do you serve?

The Greater Houston area and all 13 Texas HHS Region 6 counties — including Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and Pearland.
